A Trip Down Memory Lane

The Sydney International Piano Competition has so many loyal supporters, donors, audience members and creatives. Since it’s inception in 1977, there have been 11 great competitions and countless recitals, masterclasses and tours in between. We would love for you to share your memories with us, be it a story via text or video recordings, photos or videos.

So dig out the old photo albums, think back to your favourite moments of the competitions, the controversies of an announcement or tell us about your experience if you had a competitor to stay. If you were a competitor or a jury member, we’d love to hear your experience of the competition, if anyone was particularly kind to you or if the jury members had fierce discussions over who should win. With such a committed audience, we know you’ve probably got hundreds of memories – and we want to hear them all!

2. Post us documents, photos or anything you would like us to keep in our archive*
3. Email us files exceeding the form’s maximum size limit of 50mb

Q. I have physical photos and posters that I’d like to share. How do I get them onto my computer?

A. You have a few options. You can use a scanner to scan the images onto your computer. This is the best option as it produces the best quality files and you can name the files individually.

If you do not have access to a scanner, you can take a photo of the image on your phone or mobile device. Then, open the memory form on your mobile device, (Open your browser, type in thesydney.com.au and go to Memory Portal in the menu), and choose your files. Please describe your photos (who, when, where) in the text box above.

Q. I am having trouble submitting the form. What should I do?

A. Watch the video tutorial above to make sure you’re following all the steps correctly.

If the video doesn’t solve the issue, no problem, you can email us your memories to info@thesydney.com or you can post your documents to us. We’ll do the scanning and return it to you. Please remember to add your name and return postal address so we can mail it back to you.*
