The 1988 Adelaide Festival (directed by the late Lord Harewood) was my PR career spring-board, working with the likes of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Twyla Tharp Dance, Sarah Vaughan and Peter Brook’s all-night production of The Mahabharata at The Quarry. In 1989 I was appointed full-time Publicist at Sydney Dance Company, under Graeme Murphy. In 1995 I established my own boutique PR firm, ECP, consulting to numerous dance, music, theatre and visual arts clients including Sydney Opera House, MCA, Biennale of Sydney, WOMADelaide (national publicist), APA, MG Presents, Griffin Theatre Company, Sydney Theatre Company, Sydney Film Festival, Bangarra and The Australia Council (BAM Next Wave Downunder, New York in 2001).
Music events I have publicized include: Joshua Fields and Academy of St Martin in the Fields (Sydney Opera House); Burt Bacharach and Michael Parkinson (Sydney Symphony); Australian String Quartet national tours; China Symphony Orchestra (Sydney Opera House); Australian Youth Orchestra; Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival (SIMA) and Freedman Classical Fellowships; Sydney Con International Jazz Festival; The Original Gypsies; Angelique Kidjo; Ludovico Einaudi; Buena Vista Social Club; Katie Noonan’s With Love and Fury tour and album collaboration with The Brodsky Quartet and Gratitude and Grief with Elixir and Michael Leunig: the 2023 APRA AMCOS Art Music Awards and the 2023 Canberra International Music Festival (including The Brodsky Quartet and Alexander Gavrylyuk).
